Liz Doherty- Cork Folk Festival Traditional Musician in Residence
Liz is an Irish fiddler based in her home County of Donegal. She is a renowned teacher and imparts what is best about Irish music – sheer fun and joy! Liz wrote her PhD thesis on Cape Breton music and she currently lectures at The University of Ulster in Derry. Liz has recorded and toured with both Nomos and The Bumblebees and has recorded two solo albums. Her personality is much like her music –– exuberant, fun, quick-witted, and full of life. Liz is the Traditional Musician in Residence at this years Cork Folk Festival. She will be involved in a number of events during her week in Cork including;

Thursday 3th Oct CIT Cork School of Music: 3.00pm – Liz Doherty in Conversation.
Friday 4th Oct Online fiddle clinic: (fiddleclinic.ie) on-to-one 30 minute sessions with individual fiddle players.
